Installing the Pleisty Magento Extension


Note: if you're upgrading to a new version of the extension, you need to uninstall the older version first (instructions here).

To install Pleisty's Magento extension into your shop, follow these steps:

  1. Download the Pleisty extension file from this link.

  2. Log in into the Magento Admin Panel.

  3. Go to System > Magento Connect > Magento Connect Manager.

  4. Use the Direct package file upload feature, as shown in the figure below, to upload the Pleisty plugin file. Click Browse, and select the package file.

  1. Click Upload. The admin console will confirm the installation as shown in the figure below.

  1. Log out and log in again into the Magento Admin Panel. This step is required to have the plugin load correctly.

  2. Go to System > Configuration

  3. You should see now a section named PLEISTY in the left pane. Click the Tracker setup link in this section and then the General header to open the settings window.

  4. Type your Site ID that you received from your account manager and click Save Config. The figure below shows this screen with a demo site ID filled in.

  1. To test that the plugin loads correctly, load your shop's main URL by appending ?PleistyHelperWidget=1, such as in http://www.example.com?PleistyHelperWidget=1. If the installation is correct, the helper widget (depicted in the screenshot below) will show up in the upper left size of the window.

Uninstalling the Pleisty Magento Extension

You will need to uninstall the Pleisty Magento Extension if you need to install a newer version of it. If you need to uninstall the extension, follow these steps:

  1. Log in into the Magento Admin Panel.

  2. Go to System > Magento Connect > Magento Connect Manager.

  3. Find Pleisty in the list of installed packages, and select Uninstall from the dropdown menu.

  4. Click Commit Changes.

  5. Log Out
